After 47 youth attended the 1946 OKFB annual convention in efforts to create their own organization with the support of the Associated Women of OKFB, the OKFB State Board approved the Junior Farm Bureau program on Jan. 13, 1947. Warren Newberry of Kiowa County was elected as the first state Junior Farm Bureau president.
