In 1979, President Jim Lockett and Executive Secretary Ken McFall participated in the Oklahoma Agriculture and Home Economics Coalition with McFall serving as OAHEC secretary. The coalition included officials of more than a dozen organizations concerned about reductions proposed for research and education funds for Oklahoma State University. The group was successful in obtaining reconsideration of the budget by the Board of Regents for Higher Education, resulting in additional funds being provided.
