We’re excited to have this opportunity to share some of the stories about the history of Oklahoma Farm Bureau in hopes that you will enjoy this trip down memory lane.
In celebration of our 75th anniversary, we began searching through historical documents for information to share with members through the Oklahoma Country magazine, social media, and the OKFB website. Soon, we discovered there is simply too much interesting and fun content to share through these avenues, so we created this website and blog to dedicate our journey through history.
This blog is designed to fill in the blanks between our history articles and the expanded timeline. Although it is impossible to include everything that happened in the early days of the organization, we hope you’ll find our posts both historical and fun to read.
The majority of our stories were found in OKFB newsletters, starting with the earliest issue we have recorded in July 1945. We will also frequently use information from Ferdie Deering’s book “From the Grassroots Up” and greatly appreciate his research on our organization.
Do you have a story you’d like to share? We would love to hear it, and make sure it gets passed on to the future OKFB staff and members. Click here to submit your story or comments to our editors.
